Norway Resort is located approximately six miles from Lake Huron on Lake Winyah and the Thunder Bay River near Alpena MI.
It is a beautiful, well-kept resort shaded with pine trees. There are cabins, a campground on the shore with a boat launch, picnic tables & charcoal grills. We have boat rentals as well as a playground with a basketball hoop & a horseshoe area.
Children & pets are always welcome!
You will find an abundance of supplies at our convenience store including bait as well as beer & other liquor.
Area Recreation
The Thunder Bay River and Lake Winyah offer some great fishing sites for catching pike, walleye, small and large mouth bass, perch and other pan fish.
Neighboring Lake Huron breeds salmon, lake trout and steel head. Charter fishing trips are available. There are also public boat launching areas.
The Alpena area also offers some of the best hunting acreage with open hunting on over seventy thousand acres in Mackinaw State Forest and the surrounding vicinity. There are large Numbers of white tailed deer, wild turkey, ruffed grouse, duck, rabbit and other small game for the hunting enthusiast.
For winter recreation, try ice fishing on Lake Winyah and other neighboring lakes. There are also groomed snowmobile trials near the resort.
